A 61-year-old man was killed after a head-on crash involving a stolen truck Monday morning near Delburne, east of Red Deer, Alta.

At around 11 a.m., a Dodge Ram pickup truck was heading south on Highway 21 when police said it crossed the centre line and went into the opposite ditch.

RCMP said the driver managed to bring the truck back onto the road, but it then collided with a northbound SUV.

The driver of the SUV was killed and a female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The driver and passenger in the Dodge left the crash on foot, but witnesses brought them back to the scene.

Both of those men, aged 25 and 46, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
