WINNIPEG — Christmas has come early to Winnipeg, or at least the North Pole’s temperatures have.
Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for much of southern Manitoba Saturday and Sunday.
With extreme windchill values factored in, the frigid cold expected to feel like -40 to -45 C.

“Temperatures of minus 30 or lower this morning combined with light northwest winds of 10 to 15 km/h are producing these extreme windchill values today,” said Environment Canada.

The temperature at Santa’s workshop in the North Pole is sitting between -13 to -18 C.
A warning from Environment Canada that frostbite is possible in 10 minutes or less in these extreme cold conditions.
