VERNON, B.C. – More Okanagan families are going all-out with Christmas lights to help raise funds for charities.
The Robert family on Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon has increased their Christmas display over the last four years to create something magical.
This year, they’ve strung 30,000 bulbs and synchronized the display to music. You can tune in on your vehicle’s radio as you drive by the impressive light show.

They’ve also opened up their backyard display from 5:30 – 8 p.m. A crock pot of hot apple cider, candy canes and a fire are surrounded by a forest made of unwanted artificial Christmas trees.
Funds donated go to the Vernon Women’s Transition House Society.
Meanwhile, the Krahn family have decked out their house from top to bottom.
“My husband said, ‘I think I’m going to deck out our house National Lampoon style tomorrow morning,'” said Laine Krahn. “I didn’t really believe him until I heard him on the roof the next morning.”
Down on 25 Street, they’re raising funds for cancer research in the name of Krahn’s father who died last year of esophageal cancer.
Funds raised by those who enjoy their light display go to the BC Cancer Foundation.
