According to SaskEnergy, less than three per cent of customers use the cashier services.

“How SaskEnergy customers pay natural gas bills has completely transformed thanks to technology and we need to keep pace with these changes,” Doug Kelln, president and CEO of SaskEnergy, said in a statement.

“Our top corporate resource is our people, and by using our customer service resources more effectively and focusing them in higher demand areas, we will better serve our customers and continue to improve operational efficiency.”

Officials said customers still using cashier services can either set up a pre-authorized payment plan, make payments through their financial institution or mail SaskEnergy a cheque with the bill stub.
