The University of Regina and Conexus Credit Union have moved on to the next stage for the new Conexus headquarters on College Avenue.

Wascana Centre Authority’s board of directors has approved the development proposed by the University of Regina and Conexus Credit Union and announced Monday it is allowing the two organizations to move ahead on designing the building.

Wascana Centre Authority officials will be meeting with the two organizations to make sure the building design for the 80,000 square foot headquarters meets the expectations outlined in Wascana Centre’s Master Plan.

In an August city council meeting, council voted in favour of transferring 2.6 acres of land in Wascana Park to the university for the Conexus Credit Union headquarters .

Conexus is also donating $8.6 million to the university for its campus renewal project.
