Two men were taken to hospital Saturday after a truck was found in the ice at Buffalo Pound Lake, north of Moose Jaw, Sask.
At around 7 p.m. CT, Moose Jaw RCMP received a complaint about a pickup truck that had broken through the ice on the lake and was partially submerged.
Police said the two men in the truck were able to get themselves out of the vehicle and go to hospital in Moose Jaw for treatment. They have been since been released.
The Moose Jaw Fire Department said they sent firefighters out on the ice on Dec.11 to check the vehicle, as they were unaware if people were trapped at the time.
The fire department is reminding residents that vehicles should not be on the ice unless it has been checked for proper depth. Police said ice thickness is not consistent across the lake.
