VIDEO: Security camera Coke ad video goes viral

An advertisement for Coca Cola that was re-edited and posted on Facebook showing random acts of kindness, love and compassion, captured across security cameras around the world, has gone viral.

The video, originally posted as an advertisement for Coca Cola, and later reposted by American charitable organization http://www.loveeverybody.com under the title ‘Shocking!,’ has been shared more than 500,000 times on Facebook and it has over 15,000 ‘likes’ on the popular social networking site.

The video is set up to show what many would expect when viewing security camera footage: people stealing, groups of people fighting, drug deals going down and pickpockets.

But in a surprising turn of events, it shows exactly the opposite.

Clever subtitles guide the viewer through scenes where people ‘steal’ kisses in public, groups of people play-fight and dance, and where strangers help each other.

According to tech blog Mashable, a representative from Coca Cola says that while there ” are a few clips that, while the situation is real, we had to recreate for the ad because it was impossible to find and secure permissions from all the people recorded on the cameras.”
