One person is dead after a car was found upside down in the du Chicot River, near Terry Fox Street and Mathers Avenue, in Saint-Eustache Sunday morning.
According to Saint-Eustache police, at 6:20 a.m. a woman walked into a store on Terry Fox Street near the scene of the crash to report a vehicle that was involved in an accident was in the river.

When officers arrived, they pulled one person from the wreckage and performed CPR.

The victim, whose identity has yet to be released, was taken to hospital where their death was pronounced.
Police confirmed the woman who reported the incident was a passenger in the vehicle. She was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are unclear.
The investigation continues.
