RCMP were called to the scene of a theft after a man tried to steal $500 worth of products from Saks 5th Avenue at CrossIron Mills mall at around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
RCMP said the suspect dropped the product when he was confronted by loss prevention officers outside the store and assaulted one of the loss prevention officers, before fleeing.
The officer suffered minor injuries.
The suspect is described as a 6′ 2″ Caucasian man with a dark goatee, possibly bald and no tattoos. He was wearing a white and blue Helly Hansen jacket and dark blue Puma cap – as seen in the photograph provided.
Police are asking for anyone who may have been a witness to the crime to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
