Meals on Wheels kicked off its eight annual 23 Days of Christmas campaign in Lethbridge Tuesday morning.
The Lethbridge Seniors Citizens Organization’s Meals on Wheels delivers over 2,000 meals in December. The goal of the campaign is to have all the meals sponsored for 23 days.
Over the past seven years, 23 Days of Christmas has raised over $125,000 for Meals on Wheels, which helps during the holidays and throughout the year.
“We want to encourage individuals and businesses to become the honourary chef for the day, by sponsoring a full day of meals,” Ryan Miller, with Teamwork Training Ltd., said.
For its 25th anniversary, Teamwork Training Ltd. is hoping to raise $25,000 for the campaign.
Multiple businesses and organizers have donated $1,000 to sponsor one of the days during the campaign.
Gift cards are also being sold by Cuppers, Crazy Cakes and Urban Grocer to further support Meals on Wheels. Ten dollars from every card goes directly to the campaign.
