After Tuesday, closing is no longer in the short-term future for the Little Burgundy branch.

The library received enough donations to remain open for at least one more year.

“We are so grateful for the foundations that have come forward and we look forward to working with other partners to continue this gem of a library,” Liz Falco, Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre executive director, said.

A third library branch in Saint-Michel has also remained open.

A plan to keep the Little Burgundy branch open for the long-term is expected to be developed.

“We’re going to gather members of our community and some of our partners to envision the future for the library to come up with a sustainable model,” Falco said. “It’s been here for over 40 years and we’re going to keep that going.”
