A 20-year-old Calgary man is facing three attempted murder charges after a Regina Co-Op cab driver was stabbed and two other people injured in the city’s east end on Thursday.
Leroy Aaron Redwood is also facing four charges of breach of recognizance.
According to police, at around 9:20 p.m. on Nov. 24, police were called to the 2100 block of Park Street for a “person in distress”

Iqbal Singh Sharma, 31, a cab driver with Regina Co-Op, was stabbed multiple times in the neck, throat and chest. He is in a coma at the Regina General Hospital.

Police said according to early information, it is believed there was an altercation inside the cab, which was continued when the driver stopped and attempted to leave the vehicle.
Sharma was one of the three men injured in Thursday’s incident. The third man was found near Park and Abbott Streets.
Sharma’s friend and family have set up a GoFundMe page for the cab driver.

Singh Sharma is new to Canada and has a wife and young son.
Redwood appeared in provincial court on these charges on Nov. 28 at 9:30 a.m. CT.
