Sask. police arrest suspects wanted in connection with break-and-enter crime spree

A man and a woman wanted in three break and enters over a three-day span in Saskatchewan have been arrested.

River William Taniskishayinew, 22, and Cherish Emily Leigh Longman, 18, were taken into custody on Friday at 8:30 p.m. CT by Saskatoon police at a local residence.

Both had warrants for their arrest. They are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Monday afternoon.

Four adults have now been charged after Punnichy RCMP responded to three crimes between Nov. 6-8. Two were at residences in the rural municipality (RM) of Mount Hope and one was on the George Gordon First Nation.

All involved suspects breaking into residences and stealing numerous items including a Jeep, electronics and firearms.

Logan Owen Cyr, 20, and Andrew James Cyr, 23, are currently in custody and are expected to make their next court appearances in the coming weeks.

All four are facing charges of break and enter into a dwelling house, theft exceeding $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

The three men are from George Gordon First Nation and Longman is from Muskowekwan First Nation.
