Edmonton police issue plea for help finding missing 73-year-old man

Police are asking the public for help as they try to find a missing man last seen in west Edmonton Wednesday evening.

They said 73-year-old John Nielsen was last seen near 104 Avenue and 135 Street after leaving a home on foot at around 7 p.m.

He is 6’1″ tall, weighs about 165 pounds and has hazel eyes with short white and grey hair and a beard.

Nielsen was last seen wearing a dark blue or green sweatshirt, dark brown chino pants and black sandals with white socks.

The man is known to frequent Laurier Park in west Edmonton.

Police said Nielsen’s disappearance “is considered out of character” and there are concerns for his well-being.
