Several propane tanks exploded while firefighters fought a blaze northeast of Gibbons Thursday morning, but fortunately there were no injuries.

The fire broke out on Range Range 225 northeast of town and destroyed a motorhome, several fifth wheel trailers and one vehicle.

Chief Eric Lowe said the volunteer fire department received the call from the property residents around 5:30 a.m. He described the scene as a “ball of light.”

Lowe said no one was inside any of the trailers or vehicles, and nothing will be salvageable.

Lowe said the fire is now under investigation, but it is not considered suspicious right now. There is no word on a cause.
