Two injured after train, car collide in Saskatoon

SASKATOON – A crash between a train and a car Tuesday evening has left two teenagers with non-life threatening injuries. 

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. at a controlled crossing at the intersection of Fairlight Drive and 11th Street West.

The force of the collision pushed the car approximately 500 meters down the track. 

Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to extract the 17-year-old male passenger. 

He was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries along with the 18-year-old male driver. 

The cause of the crash has not been determined.
