26th annual Saskatoon Santa Claus Parade to spread cheer Sunday

The sights and sounds of the Saskatoon Santa Claus Parade will once again make its way through the downtown area on Sunday.

Families have the opportunity to see festive parade floats, marching participants and welcome jolly old Saint Nicholas to the Bridge City for the holiday season.

The 26th annual event starts at 1 p.m. CT.

Proceeds from this year’s parade will be donated to Midtown Plaza’s charitable partner, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan.

“We’re looking forward to hosting another successful parade this year,” the mall’s marketing director Shandra Liss said.

“The holiday season is all about bringing people, family, friends and communities together and the Saskatoon Santa Claus Parade does just that. It’s a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season in the city!”

Parking and lane restrictions will be in effect and there will be no access to the parade route for motorists from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

According to Environment Canada, there will be a mix of sun and cloud and a temperature of -1 degrees at 1 p.m. on Nov. 20.
