Here are five things you need to know to stay informed:

1) Pension Plan

The city and Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 615 disagree on a stipulation in the pension plan. The city wants to be able to renegotiate pensions down the road in the event there is a funding shortfall due to pension forecasting. But the union does not, they want to lock down a set pension plan.

2) Job Action

The ATU has been in a legal strike position since Sept. 19, but didn’t take job action until Nov. 12 when the union instituted a work to rule campaign and a ban on overtime.

Work to rule means employees are expected to follow all regulations including taking full scheduled breaks and leaving on time.
