A standoff in southwest Calgary that lasted for several hours finally came to a close on Thursday morning.

Police first surrounded a house in the area of Bow Trail and 37 Street S.W., near Westbrook Mall, at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Though little information about the incident has been released, police said it had to do with a stolen vehicle.

Investigators said the standoff wrapped up at around 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, at which time multiple suspects were taken into custody.

No one was injured.

Police say there was never any danger to the public.
