Fentanyl, firearms seized in drug trafficking investigation at Saskatoon apartment
Seven people are facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation involving an apartment in Saskatoon’s Brevoort Park neighbourhood.
On Nov. 10, members of the Saskatoon integrated drug enforcement street team (SIDEST) said they observed activity consistent with drug trafficking in the 3000-block of 7th Street East.
Officers seized drugs, cash and cellphones during two separate vehicle stops. Three people who were leaving the residence are facing charges.
A search warrant was later executed on the apartment.
Upon entering the building, police said three men were in the process of committing a robbery on a 22-year-old woman for drugs and money. Two of the men had firearms.
As a result of the SIDEST investigation, officers seized over $1,400 cash, 27.9 grams of cocaine, 0.6 grams of cannabis resin, 2.1 grams of cannabis marijuana, 36.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 49 fentanyl pills.
Five men, ages 25 to 27, and two women, ages 18 and 22, are all facing a least one Criminal Code offence.
