WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police are warning the public about an email scam involving paying a fine for negligent driving.

Police said they have recently been made aware of emails being sent to “unsuspecting individuals”, suggesting the recipient has been caught for negligent driving resulting in a fine and payment.

The emails are not associated with the Winnipeg Police Service and appear to be a scam, police said.

Police are asking the public to be cautions if they receive an email like this.
