Saskatchewan hit record-breaking temperatures at every weather station in the province on Wednesday. Regina officially surpassed its record of 18.9 degrees Celsius that was set 129 years ago.

It was quite the sight in Saskatoon, where someone celebrated the record breaking temperatures by water-skiing on the South Saskatchewan River.

The warm weather is due to a large upper ridge in the jet stream pulls warm air up from the south. Normally in November, the jet stream is farther south, which allows cooler air to push down from the Arctic.
Seasonal temperatures this time of year in southern Saskatchewan are around the freezing mark. So far, Regina has had double digit temperatures every day this month. However, the 14-day trend is showing more normal temperatures for the back half of November.
