After breaking two records over the weekend, the historic heat streak continues in Saskatoon!

Saskatoon Forecast

Today

Clouds stuck around overnight, so we only dropped down to 4 C in Saskatoon.

Mostly cloudy skies lasted through the morning, but the big story is the heat!

6 record highs were hit yesterday and today, nearly every station in Saskatchewan has a shot at breaking a record.

6 temperature records were broken on Tuesday, the warmest was Maple Creek at 21.1 degrees breaking a record of 18.9 from 1961. SkyTracker Weather

Temperatures shot up 4 degrees between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. from 8 to 12.

The mercury will continue to push up into the mid-teens this afternoon under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Tonight

A weak cold front will swing through this evening, keeping us under some clouds for awhile before conditions clear out overnight as temperatures slide back toward and possibly even a degree below freezing.

Thursday

Behind that front, cooler air will prevail tomorrow.

A surface high pressure system will keep skies mostly sunny through the day with an afternoon high hoping to hit 9 in the afternoon.

Thursday’s daytime high record of 14.4 is over a century old, from 1905, but will be out of reach for us.

After a cooler day on Thursday, the big upper ridge builds back in on Friday. SkyTracker Weather

Remembrance Day Friday

Remembrance Day is looking pretty pleasant with some sunshine, a few clouds and lots of heat.

With an expected high of 14 , Saskatoon has a decent shot of shattering our high temperature record of 14.1 from 1981.

The only drawback of the day will be the breezier conditions that are expected through the day with sustained speeds around 30 km/h with gusts upwards of 50 to 55 km/h possible during the day.

Remembrance Day could be another record breaking day in Saskatoon. SkyTracker Weather

Weekend Outlook

We’ll hang on to the heat for part of Saturday at least before a cold front slides through.

That front will kick up some cloud, but we should get a decent dose of sunshine earlier in the day with temperatures topping out in the mid-teens – likely not breaking any records though as our highest high for Nov. 12 is 17.4 from 1999.

Sunday looks to be cooler but sunnier with the mercury only pushing into high single digits for an afternoon high.
