Lethbridge woman charged with impaired driving after fatal weekend crash

RCMP have charged a Lethbridge woman with impaired driving, following a fatal rollover near Fort Macleod on Saturday.

It happened on Highway 3 east of Fort Macleod, just before 9 p.m.

Emergency crews arrived to find four people lying in a ditch near an overturned truck.

48-year-old Daniel Joseph Pard was pronounced dead on scene.

Two passengers, one male and one female, were rushed to the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge with serious injuries.

The male passenger was then transported to Calgary’s Foothills Hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to Fort Macleod Hospital for treatment

26-year-old Kristen Ashley Bastien of Lethbridge has been charged with Impaired Driving Causing Death, two counts of Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm, Dangerous Driving Causing Death, two counts of Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm and Driving While Disqualified.

Bastien will remain in police custody until her court appearance in Fort Macleod on Wednesday.
