A former vice-chair of Halifax Pride has been charged with theft and fraud after he was accused of depositing some of the organization’s money into his personal account.
Halifax Regional Police (HRP) say they received a complaint on Sept. 24, 2013, that a Halifax Pride volunteer was misappropriating funds.
Through the investigation, HRP found that the Halifax Pride Committee had been defrauded of more than $16,000.

He has been charged with:
- Fraud over $5,000

Halifax Pride responded to the arrest on their website saying they are happy to put the incident behind them.
