IHIT identifies body found in Maple Ridge scrap yard

The body found inside a Maple Ridge scrap yard on Tuesday morning has been identified by police.

The victim is Maple Ridge resident Bradley Allan Nielsen. Police said Nielsen, 53, was last seen alive on Oct. 31 around 6 p.m. and the motive for his death is unclear.

The evidence gathered so far makes police believe the act was targeted.

Ridge Meadows RCMP found the body in the area of 28800 Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge following a call from the BC Ambulance Service on Nov. 1.

The victim was found inside the scrap yard and had suffered injuries that indicated foul play was involved.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case and is continuing to gather evidence. One lane of Lougheed Highway is still closed as police investigate the crime scene.
