Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s father, Bobby, wants her former fiancé, Nick Gordon, to be prosecuted for her death in 2015. Bobbi was found unresponsive in a bathtub after overdosing on drugs, and she died in the hospital six months after the incident.
Bobby is set to appear on the Dr. Oz show Thursday, and he’ll publicly address the death of his daughter and Gordon’s alleged culpability.

In September 2016, Gordon was found legally responsible by default after failing to show up to two hearings in a wrongful death civil suit filed by her estate. A jury has been tasked with deciding how much money Gordon will have to pay Bobbi’s estate.
“I think he should be in prison,” Bobby will tell Dr. Oz on Thursday’s episode. “We’re not after any money.”
Gordon’s former lawyer (he’s no longer representing him) weighed in on the court’s ruling, saying it is “without merit.”

An autopsy ruled that Bobbi died after a cocktail of marijuana, booze and anxiety drugs led to her drowning. Her mother (and Bobby’s ex-wife) Whitney Houston died in a bathroom before the 2012 Grammy Awards.
In an incredible coincidence, Gordon was present at the scene of both Bobbi’s incident and Houston’s death.
Bobby, who just welcomed his seventh child, also opens up to Dr. Oz about how he’s holding up.
“I’m doing great. Of course, on an everyday basis, I still think about her and I still go through it,” he said. “But I think I’m a lot more comfortable with knowing that she’s in a better place… she’s not in pain anymore, and I’m just grateful for that.”
He also says he’s steering clear of drugs — which were very difficult to stay away from when he was married to Houston, he claims.

“I didn’t want my kids to grow up and see me in that type of light. I’ve always been one to want to grow, to want to be better and better on the next day,” he added. “My children mean everything to me. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them, so I try to be as strong as possible for them every day.”
The multi-million-dollar civil suit claims that Gordon suspected Brown of cheating on him, and as retaliation, he “gave Bobbi Kristina a toxic cocktail, rendering her unconscious, and then put her face down in a tub of cold water.”
Besides wrongful death, the lawsuit alleges assault and battery in addition to Gordon transferring Brown’s money without authorization.
“The recent lawsuit against Nick is slanderous and meritless,” said Gordon’s lawyers. “Nick has been heartbroken and destroyed over the loss of his love and it’s shameful that such baseless allegations have been presented publicly. Nick has engaged civil counsel and intends to defend the lawsuit vigorously and expose it for what it is: a fictitious assault against the person who loved Krissy most.”
In late April, Gordon appeared on a two-part Dr. Phil special to discuss what happened between him and Brown, and the details of the night of her death.

Gordon told Dr. Phil McGraw that Brown turned to drugs after her mother’s death, and he tried his best to steer her in a healthier direction. On the night Brown nearly drowned in the bathtub, Gordon insists that he and a friend tried to give her mouth-to-mouth, attempting to resuscitate her.
“I ran to my room and then I saw my girl on the floor,” he said. “It was so traumatizing. I dropped to my knees and kept giving her chest compressions and blowing into her mouth. I thought she was going to come round but that never happened.”
He insists he was traumatized by witnessing both Brown’s near-drowning and Houston’s death. He saw Houston’s lifeless body on the floor, her lips blue. He says he had enough trouble dealing with that, only to relive it again with his fiancée.

Gordon went into rehab after an intervention on Dr. Phil last year. He says he is now clean and sober.
No criminal charges have been filed against Gordon as of this writing.
