Man hit by a car on Fraser Highway in Surrey

A Surrey man is in hospital this morning after being struck on the Fraser Highway overnight.

Emergency crews were called to the highway intersection with 166 Street about 11 p.m.

Witnesses say the man was hit by an eastbound car.

He has serious injuries and is in stable condition in hospital.

Police are investigating the cause but it was raining heavily at the time of the crash.

The driver remained at the scene.

There is no word yet on whether charges will be laid and the victim has not been identified.
