A Kelowna motorcyclist is still in hospital recovering from serious injuries after a crash Sunday night.
Police said the motorcycle was headed south on Richter Street just before 7:00 p.m. Sunday night when car headed north on Richter Street tried to turn left onto Cadder Avenue and drove “directly into the oncoming path” of the motorcyclist.
The 63-year-old Kelowna man on the motorcycle was injured. As of Monday morning, he was still in hospital in stable but serious condition.
According to police, the driver of the car appeared to be possibly intoxicated so RCMP asked for a breath sample. Police said the test “resulted in a FAIL” reading.
Police said the 56-year-old West Kelowna woman driving the car “refused to provide further breath samples” at the police detachment.
She was given a driving prohibition.
Police are still investigating and say that criminal charges are a possibility.
RCMP are hoping to hear from any witnesses who have not already given a statement to police.
