A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a transit bus in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police say the incident occurred at George Street and Nelson Street just after 7 p.m. yesterday.

Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened to come forward.
