Police say a person inside the Heaths’ home said Heath ran to them handing over his one-year-old child, saying, “This is the last time I will see the baby. I killed two people.”

Heath was arrested in the parking lot of the school where he worked Monday afternoon. He has since been placed on administrative leave.

The Dallas-Fort Worth CBS affiliate reported that one student said Heath appeared to be “completely normal” during class on Monday.

Heath’s wife Tiffany told police that the morning following the shooting, Heath admitted to her that he was responsible for the two deaths. She said he also asked her to clean the blood in their gun safe.

Authorities told KHOU that they didn’t have enough probable cause to arrest Heath before Monday and that he is being unco-operative with their investigation.

Heath is being held on a US$1-million bond.
