Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton turned 69 years old Wednesday and she decided to publicly wish herself a happy birthday – at least on Twitter – and people seem to have a problem with that.
Clinton (or someone from her campaign) took to social media earlier Wednesday to celebrate turning another year older.
“Happy birthday to this future president,” Clinton’s account tweeted, along with a black and white photo of her as a child.
As the Associated Press points out, Clinton marked the milestone on Tuesday on Univision’s entertainment news show El Gordo y La Flaca, where she was feted with a bottle of tequila and a large cake featuring her face and the White House.
However, it appears that Clinton’s actual birthday message on social media has weirded some people out.
“Did you just wish a happy birthday to yourself? Weirdo lol,” a Twitter user by the name of DEXB0T wrote.
“You’re so weird, are you telling yourself happy birthday?” asked Twitter user dubbed Political Cow.
“Whomever is managing your social media account needs to be fired immediately. No one wishes themselves a happy birthday,” Steve Peer chimed in.

“Shouldn’t this have come from one of the campaign accounts?” asked Mickey White.
“The saddest birthday tweet comes from yourself,” Michelle Ray wrote.
Clinton’s birthday comes less than two weeks before Americans head to polling stations on November 8.
Clinton is continuing to campaign on her birthday with a stop in Florida Wednesday afternoon.
Here’s a look at some of the reaction to Clinton’s birthday tweet.
