The public is advised to avoid two areas in West Kelowna later this week because of a firefighting aircraft demonstration.
It’s part of the Wildland Fire Canada 2016 conference underway in Kelowna.
The air tanker will drop water on a hillside in the Smith Creek area and do a flyover of conference participants near the intersection of Highway 97 and Gellatly Road.
The two events happen Wednesday afternoon at about one o’clock.
The conference is held every two years.
Representatives from Canadian fire management agencies discuss wildfire issues including management, ecology and science.
