KELOWNA – An observant citizen is being credited in the arrest of two people in Kelowna suspected of breaking into parked vehicles.
RCMP were called at 5:39 a.m. Monday to the 300-block of Clarissa Road after the witness saw a man with a flashlight inside a vehicle.
Officers arrived and arrested a man and woman who police say had several items believed stolen from vehicles in the area.
Police are trying to identify the rightful owners.
“Residents in the area are being asked to check their vehicles for any signs of entry or theft,” states Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey in a news release. “If you have been the victim of a theft from your vehicle and have not yet reported the incident to police you are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.”
The 24-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were held in custody facing potential charges.
