Justin Bieber stormed off the stage during his Manchester concert on Sunday. The 22-year-old pop singer was booed by fans apparently for talking too long between songs on the Manchester leg of his Purpose world tour – Oct 24, 2016

Justin Bieber caused an outrage on Sunday night when he dropped his microphone and stormed off the stage mid-concert.

The 22-year-old pop star was trying to speak to his fans at the Manchester Arena when he asked fans to stop screaming between songs.

“I appreciate all the support, I appreciate love I appreciate the kind things,” Bieber said. “But the screaming in these breaks has got to stop. Please and thank you. I don’t think it’s necessary when I’m trying to say something and you guys are screaming.”

“My point of the no screaming thing is so that when I’m looking at you in the eyes, you can actually know that we’re having a moment and having a connection,” he says in the clip. “So it’s not me trying to be an a**hole. It’s simply me just wanting to have a moment.”

Bieber has struggled with the noise from fans during the U.K. leg of his tour. He made headlines last week when he told fans at a show in Birmingham to “take a chill pill” after insisting, “the screaming is just so obnoxious.”

At another concert in Manchester on Oct. 20, Bieber was interrupted by the screams again.

The Sorry singer went from telling his fans their lives had a purpose to threatening to not engage with them anymore.

“And the reason why it’s called the Purpose tour is because I believe everybody in this building has a purpose,” Bieber said. “No matter how old you are, no matter how young you are, no matter… there’s really no stipulations.”

Bieber went on to explain he “doesn’t even know what his purpose is” and when fans continued to scream, he got visibly frustrated.

“I just thought I could have a moment, you know, to try and say something… But if not, I’ll just get to singing if you guys don’t want to hear me speak. I don’t mind cutting the bulls*** because I don’t need to talk. I’m just trying to engage but if you guys don’t want to do that, can you just play the music?”

This all comes after months of Bieber’s public frustration with his Beliebers. Back in May, he announced he was done taking photos with fans.

“If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I’m not gonna take a picture. I’m done taking pictures,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human. I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity.”

He also deleted his Instagram account in August after asking fans to respect his then-alleged-girlfriend, Sofia Richie. The pair have reportedly split, but the singer hasn’t returned to that social media platform.

Bieber’s tour moves on to Genting Arena in Birmingham on Oct. 24.
