Justin Bieber may love his Beliebers, but he doesn’t love when they scream over him while he’s trying to speak.

The Canadian pop star took a moment to plead with his fans to hold back their screams on his Purpose World Tour in Birmingham, England on Tuesday night.

“Hey, guys, could you do me a favour?” he asked, interrupting his own monologue. “Could you guys just relax? For, like, two seconds?… I get it, but I’m like two feet away from you, and I can hear you. I appreciate it, I appreciate all the love, it’s amazing, but can you show it in a different way?”

“The screaming is just so obnoxious,” Bieber continued. “I get it, it’s been in our blood, it’s ingrained that you go to a concert and you scream and stuff.”

Moments before, the 22-year-old singer was attempting to open up to his fans about the struggles of being on the road and touring all the time. Fans could barely hear him because they were screeching over him — something Bieber should be used to by now.

“But, if we could just scream after the song… enjoy the song, you scream, it was awesome, it’s fun,” he said. “Then you take a chill pill for a second, and we just listen to me speak.”

“Cause I don’t feel like I’m being heard sometimes, and it gets a little frustrating,” Bieber continued. “So when I’m speaking, you guys could not scream at the top of your lungs, is that cool with you guys? Could we do that?”

Bieber finished thanking his fans for keeping him company on the road, ending with the proclamation, “Now scream!”

The Cold Water singer is in the middle of the European leg of his Purpose World Tour, and he made headlines earlier this month when he attempted to go incognito and disguise himself with a wig and goatee while in Amsterdam.

In the video below, you can hear him asking a woman about his new facial features. “Hey, does this look real?” he asks, as he continues to walk casually down the street.

This isn’t the first time Bieber has shot down his fans. In late September, Bieber crushed the hearts of many Beliebers after a video surfaced on the internet showing the pop star telling a group of fans that they “suck.”

In May, he announced that he would no longer be taking photos with his fans. “If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I’m not gonna take a picture. I’m done taking pictures,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human. I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity.”

He also deleted his Instagram account in August after asking fans to respect his then-alleged-girlfriend, Sofia Richie. The pair have reportedly split, but the singer hasn’t returned to that social media platform.

You can watch Bieber asking his fans to listen to him and stop screaming in the video, above.
