Northlands and the City of Edmonton host the 2012 edition of River City Round Up (RCR) – a 10-day celebration of Edmonton’s agriculture and western heritage with events across the city. River City Round Up takes place from November 2-11.
Whether you’re from the city or the country – or you’re just a country kid at heart…don’t miss this opportunity to get your cowboy on through music, food, entertainment and good ol’ fashioned country fun with events across the city and throughout the Northlands grounds.
It all starts with the 22nd Annual Chili Cook Off between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm on Friday, November 2 in Sir Winston Churchill Square. Global Edmonton’s Jennifer Crosby will be on-site where 24 participants will battle for the title of Edmonton’s best chili! At only $2 a bowl you will be able to sample some of Edmonton’s finest chili and then vote on your favourite. Everyone is welcome!

Saturday, November 3rd is the Official RCR Kick Off, with loads of free family entertainment happening throughout the Square as well as in City Hall. Mark your calendar for this full day of FREE family entertainment and fun! Activities start at 11 am.
And you won’t want to miss the FREE main stage entertainment all day long, with Canadian Country Music Star GEORGE CANYON taking the stage at 5:30 pm, followed by spectacular fireworks!
