Cocaine, ecstasy seized by police in Saskatoon drug bust

Saskatoon police say a woman and a wanted man are facing charges following a drug bust on Monday.

At around 3:15 p.m. CT, members of the guns and gangs unit observed the two suspects going in and out of a vehicle in the 800-block of Confederation Drive. The man was identified and there was a warrant for his arrest.

When officers approached, the man fled on foot. A The police dog unit assisted in the arrest of the man a few blocks away.

Police said he was bit on the leg and arm. The man was treated in hospital for minor injuries and released.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy.

The 39-year-old man and 37-year-old woman are now facing three charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. The man also faces a charge of possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

Both appeared in Saskatoon provincial court on Tuesday morning.
