Kayne Cooper, the Rhinoceros Party’s federal byelection candidate for the riding of Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner, said he will work towards making Canada become a “true democracy” if elected.

Global News reporter Erik Mikkelsen asked Cooper a few questions voters might like the answers to. Here’s a full transcript below:

Erik Mikkelsen: Tell us a little about yourself. What is your background and experience in politics?

Kayne Cooper: I’m just a simple boy with stars in his eyes. I don’t know anything about politics, but I do have heart/courage.

EM: Why did you decide to run for this byelection?

KC: Ever since I was born I’ve always had a dream. A dream of living with all of the celebrities in Ottawa, the Hollywood of Canada.

EM: What do you believe is the biggest issue affecting constituents in your riding?

KC: The biggest issue is affecting not only the constituents of this riding, but of the whole country. Canada is not a true democracy but nobody seems to realize it. The reasoning is as follows in my answer to question four.

EM: If elected, what can your constituents expect from you?

KC: I will do everything in my power to have EVERY decision that needs to be made in Ottawa, in regards to the Country (sic), will have a federal wide vote. That’s why I’m bringing back the penny. We never voted it out, so we are gunna[sic] bring it back and then give everyone the opportunity to vote on whether we should keep it or not.
