Manitoba RCMP’s Twitter and Facebook accounts have taken a new form for Sunday: the voice of a murder victim.
In 1986, Kerrie Ann Brown disappeared in Thompson, Manitoba. Two days later her body was found after she had been raped and beaten. But, the murderer has never been caught.
Through renewed efforts, Manitoba RCMP is taking a new approach to try and bring peace to Kerrie Ann’s family. Manitoba RCMP’s social media accounts will post first person messages as if from Kerrie Ann herself, to tell Canadians about herself and her last moments of being alive.
Her family has never been able to find peace said Kerrie Ann’s brother. Explaining what he remembered from that day 30 years ago.
“I look up at my dad and he says that was the police. They want me to come down to the hospital and identify a body,” said Trevor Brown.

Her brother said their mother died not knowing who killed her daughter.
“We are coming up to 11,000 nights since it happened. I know my dad hasn’t slept in 30 years and my mom died without knowing what happened to her little girl,” said Brown.
Brown and his family are hoping this social media blitz will help bring some peace to the family. With hopes that someone with information on what happened that day 30 years ago will come forward.
The tweets and Facebook posts off the RCMP accounts will try to follow along as accurately as possible with the sequence of Kerrie Ann’s final day. You can follow along on social media under #Kerrie
