RCMP have charged a 42-year-old man in relation to a homicide that happened a month ago on the Tall Cree First Nation.
On Sept. 18, RCMP were called to reports of a stabbing at a home on the reserve.
RCMP said a 46-year-old man was stabbed by another man during an altercation and was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he later died on Oct. 7.
RCMP charged Sheldon Lee Auger, from Fort Vermillion, with second-degree murder.
The name of the victim has not been released.
An autopsy was conducted and additional tests are pending.
Auger remains in custody and will make his first court appearance via CCTV on Oct. 18.
Tall Cree First Nation is approximately 650 kilometres north of Edmonton.
