A 21-year-old Sherwood Park man has been charged with several offences in relation to a fatal collision early Thursday morning.
At around 4:50 a.m., police were called to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Baseline Road and Glenbrook Boulevard in Sherwood Park.
Officers believe an SUV heading west on Baseline Road was hit when a car heading north on Glenbrook Boulevard went through a flashing red light.
Police said a 33-year-old Sherwood Park man, who was a passenger in the car, was killed in the crash. Two other women, both 19-year-old passengers in the car, were seriously injured in the crash. The driver of the car was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Jesse James McFawn, the driver of the car, has since been charged with:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm (x2)
- Failing to comply with a probation order
- Driving while prohibited
- Operating an unregistered motor vehicle
- Improper use of a licence plate
- Operating an uninsured motor vehicle
McFawn was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
