WINNIPEG — From leftovers to forgotten groceries and a coffee cup, Winnipeg’s bus shelters are home to some unique finds.

While you’re waiting for your bus you’ve probably noticed some interesting things left behind. Some gross, some fun, and some downright smelly.

David Penner started an Instagram account to house photos of all the interesting things he finds when he’s waiting for the bus.

“I’m kind of capitalizing off of negativity here. I’d take a picture and throw it online and people seemed to like it. So, I posted more and more and it became a thing among friends,” said David Penner.

The pictures capture all sorts of things Penner has seen left behind or forgotten.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“It was a single boot and the remains of a rotisserie chicken just sitting on the side of the bus stop,” said Penner.

The city said despite what people are finding left behind, they do clean the over 800 bus shelters scattered around the city at least two to three times a week.
