Winter driving conditions have begun in the Southern Interior, just in time for the Thanksgiving long weekend.
Drive BC webcams show snow accumulations on Highway 97C, especially from Elkhart to Highland Valley Road north of Merritt.
RCMP have already responded to at least one rollover, and another vehicle sliding off the road.
“We’re just asking motorists to think about adjusting their driving for winter conditions,” said Cpl. Cheryl Bush of the Kamloops RCMP. “That includes having winter tires on their vehicles.”
The province legislates that all vehicles travelling on highways must have winter tires from October 1 to March 31.
