WINNIPEG — Two people are dead following a single motor vehicle crash on McPhillips Street Saturday morning.
Winnipeg Police Service said the crash happened at the 700 block of McPhillips Street around 1:30 Saturday morning. First responders said they located the vehicle at the east side of McPhillips Street at Alfred Avenue.
The scene outside a tailor shop on McPhillips indicates the vehicle crashed in to the side of it.
Both the man and woman in the vehicle were taken to hospital in critical condition, and later died.
The pair have been identified by Winnipeg Police as Janne Lahteenmaki and Sarah Sanderson. Police said both were in their mid-thirties.

Souparno Majumbar was taking his tailoring to the shop Saturday morning said it was a scary scene to come to.
“I was pretty shaken up to see what happened. I was dropping off some tailoring and my first thought is that I hope him and his family are okay,” said Majumbar.
There’s no indication as to what may have led to the crash at this time, but officers continue to investigate.
