A new store in Southcentre Mall is helping shoppers indulge their love of designer shoes without the guilt.

The Bamboo Ballroom sells discounted brand-name footwear with 100 per cent of the profits going to local non-profit organization HomeFront Calgary.

Kim Flanagan from Bamboo Ballroom said all the shoes are donated to the store – then sold at a fraction of their original price.

Flanagan points to the current downturn of the economy as inspiration for the concept.

“Consignment right now is huge,” Flanagan said. “People are moving stuff out that’s not working for them – and it’s going to work for somebody else.”
