Ken Rothe is still in disbelief after he found a note claiming to be from the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan on his property. The note came in a clear plastic bag filled with rice, presumably to weigh down the package so it could be tossed from a moving vehicle.

“I’d like to think in Canada this stuff doesn’t go on, but here it is right in front of us,” he said. “It’s really tough to swallow.”

The flyer reads, in part: “Yes, white lives do matter. We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” It then encourages people to phone a Klan hotline.

“We found 32 of these little packages with KKK-type material inside,” Cst. Ian MacDonald of the Abbotsford Police Department said. “We are investigating. At the end of the day, this is material that demonstrates ignorance and obviously is espousing intolerance.”

It’s unclear whether one person or several people were involved in the distribution of the flyers.
