On October 13th, Cochrane RCMP officers responded to a report of what was believed to be human remains found at a rural area near Cochrane.
RCMP Major Crime investigators, as well as Calgary Forensic Identification Section, also attended the scene and assisted in the investigation.

The items found at the scene were sent to the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office for closer inspection.
The Medical Examiner’s preliminary examination confirmed that the remains were human.
RCMP officers are investigating the matter.
