A man was shot and killed in Île Perrot, Que. around 8:30 p.m. Sunday after Sûreté du Québec (SQ) responded to a distress call.
According to the Bureau des Enquêtes Indépendantes (BEI), the SQ had traced a phone call from a man threatening suicide.

When police arrived, it’s alleged the man charged at them with a knife.
Several shots were fired, and the man later died of his injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation by the bureau.
