KELOWNA – A drug overdose in Kelowna has claimed the life of a Kamloops man.
The incident happened Saturday night at a Kelowna hotel, apparently during a wedding reception.
A spokesperson for Interior Health says five people overdosed but the other four have recovered.
They may have taken cocaine laced with fentanyl.
The Facebook page of 27-year-old Edmond Paul Adkin identifies him as the victim.
Kelowna RCMP say the investigation into the death has been handed over to the Coroners Service.
An online fundraiser to help Adkin’s family has raised more than $20,000.
